Windward SeaVenture is joining the Multihull Rally put on by the Houston Yacht Club.  Due to the ever growing number of cruising cats in the Galveston Bay area, Houston Yacht Club is sponsoring a race schedule for racing catamarans.  We are offering spots on our 46′ Fountain Pajot, “Mayan Mystress” for these races.  Spots are limited to 6 crew.  All skill levels welcome to join.

To sign up for a race, all you have to do is click on the book here button under each race.  You will have to sign up for each race individually.  This will take you to our online booking page.  Once you pick your date and book online, we will get your information over to Captain Tom who will be your captain for all of these races.  He will be in touch with you on the dock times, start times, and other specifics for each race.  Also feel free to call the Windward Team at 281-467-2279 to book over the phone.

There are 4 events scheduled for this year and they are as follows:

This is a Galveston Bay course starting in the proximity of El Jardin Beach and ending in the vicinity of HYC entrance.  This is a 8-16 mile course encompassing mostly the North Galveston Bay.  This race will be a day race only.

The Freeport Triangle Race:  the start/finish will be in the vicinity of the Galveston Jetties.  This will be a 50 mile offshore race to a predesignated point, to the Freeport Entrance Buoy, then to the finish. (Or could be reversed or shortened due to wind and weather conditions) This will be an all day and overnight race into the following day.

Port Arthur Two Step Race: The start will be in the vicinity of the Galveston Jetties and end in the vicinity 0f the Texas Point National Wildlife Refuge.  The participants are then invited to proceed up the Sabine river to Pleasure Island and Port Arthur Yacht Club for after rally festivities.  Saturday will include racing on Lake Sabine. Saturday night will include evening festivities with a band, dancing and dinner.  Sunday is a race back home. Monday will be the race party and trophies at HYC.  This is a 3 night trip, on board provisioning included.
